From a simple idea to a
living air revolution.
VerdeTerra started with a question: why do we accept stale, recycled air indoors when nature has been purifying air for billions of years? Our founder recognized that the same photosynthetic process that makes forests feel so alive could be harnessed inside our homes — not as a gimmick, but as a genuinely effective air purification technology.
After years of research and development, collaborating with institutions like Georgia Tech and working alongside the EPA, we proved that living Spirulina biofiltration could deliver measurable, repeatable air quality improvements. From those early lab trials, Albero was born — a handcrafted, bespoke system that transforms whole-home air purification into a work of art.
Now, with Alberello, we’re bringing that same proven technology to every room. Compact, whisper-quiet, and designed to be experienced — not hidden away.

Mark Snyder
Founder & Principal Investigator
Mark brings years of experience from designing supercars and rockets to applying that engineering expertise in the business world as a management consultant. His passion for precision engineering and sustainable design led him to founding VerdeTerra.
As Principal Investigator on VerdeTerra’s EPA-funded research (Contract #68HERC25C0015), Mark has led the development of the Spirulina-based air purification system from concept to commercial product — proving that nature’s own processes can be supercharged for modern living spaces.

What is the difference between Alberello and Albero?
Alberello is a compact, room-level living air purification system designed for bedrooms, nurseries, home offices, and wellness spaces. Albero is a larger-format bespoke system designed for whole-home or whole-office air purification. Both use the same Spirulina biofiltration technology, but Albero is handcrafted and custom-designed for your specific space.
How does the Spirulina biofiltration work?
Living Spirulina algae naturally absorbs CO₂â?? and volatile organic compounds through photosynthesis — the same process that makes forests feel so alive. Our systems create a sealed bioreactor where air passes through the living algae culture, which purifies it naturally before releasing it back into your space.
Is Alberello safe for nurseries and children’s rooms?
Yes. Alberello was designed with families in mind. It operates at just 22 dB (whisper-quiet), produces no ozone or harsh chemicals, and uses natural Spirulina filtration.
